A Team Built On Love For Home
Rooted in the Mbo highlands, UNDA is built on a shared identity not just service, but belonging. Every member is connected to these villages by lived experience, which drives a deeper level of commitment and trust. This spirit of development began in 1986 when HRH Fonjungo Tobias personally funded the first road from Ngwata to Njungo, laying the foundation for progress.
Founded by natives of Upper Nkongho Mbo, UNDA continues this legacy with a clear mission: to improve access to clean water, healthcare, education, electricity, and roads across six villages. Born from lived realities, we work hand in hand with our communities to create lasting, practical change where it matters most.
OUR COMMUNITIES
Seven villages
One Mbo family
Nkongho-Mbo people descend from four main ethnic groups: Banyang, Nweh (Bangwa), Bamileke, and French-speaking Mbo known as “Betang.” The clan is divided into Upper (Nkongho-Ekhih) and Lower (Nkongho-Mbeng), with both highlands and lowlands. The land is mountainous with deep valleys and fast streams. Notable hills include Bekongho such as Dinte, Lekweeh, Soke, Ngiesang, Mbemfe, Nzeleted, Lebe-Nguuh, and Lebe. Traditional meals include koki and pounded cocoyams with fried vegetables, alongside the Mbo Dance.
Each village in Upper Nkongho Mbo has its own identity, its own leadership, and its own specific needs. We work alongside all of them guided by the people who call each one home.
WHO WE ARE

The Upper Nkongho Mbo Development Association (UNDA) was founded in 1990 with a clear mission to improve lives across the Upper Nkongho Mbo communities. Its first major milestone was bringing portable water to several villages for the very first time. In 1996, the association adopted its first constitution under a newly elected bureau led by President Eladson Christopher and Secretary Etinzuck Christopher. Leadership continued with President Fonzuck Cornelius and Secretary Mbunganu Paul, followed by President Fongenya Paul in 2014 alongside Secretary Mendeh Fossoh Georges. Today, UNDA is guided by its fifth bureau, elected in 2024, continuing a legacy of community driven development and impact.
